Douglas R. Young
During his 41 years in the financial services industry, Mr. Young was a financial advisor for various investment firms, manufacturing companies, and other financial services firms. Mr. Young has served on the board of directors for several public and privately owned companies since 1992, and has participated in both start up and emerging growth companies as an investor and consultant. Mr. Young founded the Business Owners Network, LLC in 2004 to provide business consulting and personal financial advice for the owners of small and mid-size businesses; BON’s services include business development, strategic planning, retirement planning, and corporate finance transactions. Mr. Young is a registered investment advisor, Certified Financial Planner licensee, and has received certificates of advanced studies from De Paul University in Chicago; he graduated from the McCombs School of Business with a BBA degree.
Robert R. Taylor
Mr. Taylor is a seasoned executive with over 40 years as a serial entrepreneur as Founder/Owner/Partner/CEO with a number of companies in a variety of industries including technology, manufacturing, software, consulting, financial, litigation support, construction, B2B sales & marketing and financial & business services. He has worked extensively with entrepreneurs, inventors and engineers and their unique, creative characteristics, providing the leadership and patience necessary to ensure the ‘business’ strategy and timing runs parallel with the ‘product development’ (and visa-versa) with the goal of achieving a successful business outcome.
He holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting and Real Estate and an MBA in Accounting and Finance from Michigan State University. He joined Peat, Marwick & Mitchell (presently KPMG) and is presently a non-active CPA. He has taught numerous accounting and management courses at the university level and has led seminars in turnaround management. He has been active in a number of professional and charitable organizations.
Charles J. Hart
Mr. Hart is a seasoned executive with broad experience in various industries including a distinguished career in Management Consulting with Andersen Consulting (Accenture), KPMG/Peat Marwick, Kenneth Leventhal & Co., and Hill International. He also founded several large independent consulting practices with a focus on Asset Management, Financial/Investment Banking and Corporate Strategy and established a large Regional Manufactured Housing Retail Firm.
Mr. Hart holds and undergraduate degree from Rice University in Economics and a Wharton MBA. He is active in a number of Professional and Charitable Organizations including The Houston Food Bank (Treasurer & Board Member), The Tourette Syndrome Association of Texas (Co-Founder & President), Planning Executives Institute (President), The Rice Alliance For Technology & Entrepreneurship, The Wharton Club of Houston and the Texas Society of CPA’s.
George Platt
Mr. Platt has more than 30 years executive management experience with technology based companies. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Control Engineering.
He was President of Industrial Control Services Inc. in Houston for 15 years and, during this time formed joint ventures in China, where he was appointed Vice Chairman, Singapore and Brazil. He was also, during this time, responsible for the acquisition of three major technology companies.
In 1998, he formed Platt Resource Associates to offer strategic development solutions to growing companies. He has specialized in developing sales and growth strategies and has worked with companies in the US, China and the UK.
His area of consulting services includes business development, strategic planning, sales and acquisitions, joint ventures and licensing to manufacturing, engineering and related companies.
